Our golf club hosted its first “Race for Flagstick" tournament on the first day of summer. Minsk Golf Club is trying new and unique tournament formats to add excitement to life. The competition was attended by 32 golfers who arrived at 8 a.m. to thoroughly prepare for the upcoming game at the driving range.
One of the most eye-catching features for this new format involves the flagstick. The number of strokes needed for passing the championship course implies a par of 72 plus a golfer’s playing handicap. After the final shot, the golfer sticks a flag into the ground where their ball stopped. The golfer who carries the flag while playing the greatest number of holes or the one with the most shots left after the finish wins the tournament.
The shotgun start took place at 10.00. Yellow tees were for men, the red ones - for ladies and children. The tournament featured contests for men and women, as well as Long Drive and Closest to the pin contests.
After the award ceremony, all guests and participants were invited to serve food and beverage on a buffet table. Thanks to everyone who took part in the "Race for Flagstick" tournament at Minsk Golf Club and congratulations again to our winners.
